The BBC’s manipulation of Donald Trump’s speech has dominated the headlines, and this is no surprise. If this kind of misleading editing had originated in a Russian bot farm, the BBC would probably have described it as an attempt at election interference. But it is vital that we do not lose sight of what Michael Prescott, the whistleblower, has warned may be a far deeper and more corrosive failure inside the BBC – its reporting of the Israel-Hamas war.
