For more than twenty years, I have prepared and delivered Holocaust Memorial Day assemblies to every year group in my secondary school. Year after year, cohort after cohort. I have done so not as a historian by training - I am in fact a mathematician, nor as someone with any personal or familial connection to the Holocaust, but simply as a teacher who believes that remembrance is a moral obligation.
